Haesaerts – le Grelle

Stand G09

Oak side table
Oak variant of the model shown in the bedroom on display in the “l’Art dans l’habitation” shop, a subsidiary of Serrurier-Bovy located at 54 rue de Tocqueville in Paris.
Opened in 1900, this showroom presented customers with complete sets of furnishings, including dining rooms, bedrooms and study cabinets.
In 1904, on the strength of his Parisian success, Gustave Serrurier moved his shops from rue de Tocqueville to a larger, more prestigious address at 37 boulevard Haussmann.
A similar model in acajou is on permanent display at the Musée d’Orsay and was acquired by the museum in the 1980s.
