About us

Rediscovery of Belgian family works — Bronkart, Detheux — and the photographs of Michel Pinel.

Galerie B&H Brussels presents at Antica Namur a selection of Belgian modern art that has remained off the market: nothing has circulated at auction or in galleries for decades. The works come directly from the families. The stand is aimed particularly at Belgian collectors with a rare collection of works by Silvin Bronkart (Sylvain Bronckaert, 1915-1967), a leading figure of post-war Walloon abstraction, member of APIAW, and co-founder of the Réalité group. Drawings, watercolors, lyrical works, and intricate lead pieces come exclusively from his daughter: a body of work preserved within the family, still too little known outside Liège circles. Alongside this: • Robert Detheux (1932-2010), a Belgian artist: works on paper and paintings that his family kept secret for decades. A personal surrealism, long kept confidential. • Michel Pinel (1949-2022), French photographer: original signed silver gelatin prints—nudes, architecture, portraits—remained in the family, never exhibited in a gallery. • Jesús Fuertes (1938-2006): a set of watercolors from 1969 created for the Surrealist exhibition at the Knokke Casino, alongside works by Magritte, Delvaux, Labisse, Man Ray, and Max Ernst. A dated, historically situated body of work. Unpublished pieces, direct from the family. An invitation to see what has not yet been seen.
