Since its creation in 1871, Degroof Petercam has actively supported a large number of associations, museums, research funds and one-off projects.
In order to structure its own actions, the bank has created the Degroof Petercam Foundation. This supports environmental protection and education projects and motivates its staff to get involved in associations.
These two areas are perfectly in line with the bank’s values of ethical and societal commitment, focused on the long term and the transfer of financial, environmental and cultural assets. The bank has long been involved in a number of cultural events. Among other examples, Degroof Petercam was one of the sponsors of the Queen Elisabeth Competition and winner of the Caius Prize for its contribution to the David and Alice van Buuren Monumental Sculpture Prize. It has long supported the restoration of the architectural and artistic heritage of the cathedral of Saints Michel and Gudule in Brussels, etc.
More recently, Degroof Petercam has been involved as a patron of the Musée d’Ixelles and ‘Het Kunstuur’ – the educational museum initiative of brothers Joost and Hans Bourlon in Mechelen, Hasselt and Courtrai – and, in Luxembourg, with the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean (Mudam), as well as being a partner of the Belgian pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale.
In the same spirit, Degroof Petercam is also actively supporting the Antica Namur Fine Art Fair.
