About us

Founded by Thibaud and Elise d'Echallens, Galerie Animalia is located in Brussels' Châtelain district.

The Animalia Gallery houses a collection of works spanning the 19th century to the present day. Antoine-Louis Barye (1795–1875) and Arthur du Passage (1838–1909) are featured alongside René Paris (1881–1970) and José Maria David (1944–2015), as well as contemporary artists such as Pierre-Jean Chabert, Hadrien David, and François Vandenberghe.

Animal sculptors and their models are celebrated through a variety of subjects, blending traditional and iconic scenes with rare and original themes. On our walls, animal subjects are displayed alongside landscapes and Orientalist scenes. This collection includes works by Eugène Fromentin (1820–1876), Victor Huguet (1835–1902), Léon Charles Canniccioni (1857–1879), Henri Emilien Rousseau (1875–1933), and Yves Brayer (1907–1990). We also exhibit works by contemporary artists, such as Marine Oussedik and Igor Ly.
