Galerie Ary Jan
About us
Founded in Paris in 1997 by Mathias Ary Jan, Galerie Ary Jan specializes in late 19th and early 20th-century painting, with a particular focus on the Belle Époque, Post-Impressionism, Orientalism, and Symbolism.
For several years, Mathias Ary Jan has also maintained a close relationship with Goudji, whose work he passionately collects and champions. Now represented in Paris by Galerie Ary Jan, Goudji occupies a unique place in the gallery's programming. A goldsmith and sculptor, he developed an immediately recognizable style, combining precious metals, hardstones, and forms inspired by both ancient civilizations and his own personal imagination.
For his return to Antica Namur, Galerie Ary Jan has chosen to dedicate a significant portion of the gallery's exhibition to Goudji, presenting a selection of his works alongside a range of 19th- and 20th-century paintings.
This dialogue between painting and goldsmithing, between color, material, and light, reveals unexpected correspondences between works seemingly disparate in their era or technique. Through this exhibition, the gallery aims to transcend traditional boundaries between disciplines and offer a sensitive and personal perspective on the works it represents.
