The Bénédicte Giniaux Gallery presents paintings by Didier Caudron and sculptures by Valem

The BĂ©nĂ©dicte Giniaux Gallery presents the paintings of Didier Caudron, a master of color who works in oil using a palette knife with a fractal approach. Born in 1947, he has been exhibiting his work since 1992 in various galleries in France and abroad. Always exploring, straddling the line between figurative and abstract art, Didier Caudron creates canvases in which viewers discover, at their own pace and through their own perspectives, textures and depths—sometimes unexpected. His paintings, with their vivid colors, are highly dynamic and rhythmic, evoking immediate sensations that celebrate light, reflections, shadows, and movement. Numerous imaginary landscapes, influenced by different regions of France—some viewed from the sky—offer vivid, original, and highly personal perspectives.
Valem’s sculptures, made of clay and bronze, are figurative. She creates nudes, modeled from live subjects, as well as domestic and wild animals. Her approach is deeply material-oriented; she works with clay in small balls added one by one, and the structure is often left unrefined. These are powerful figures with vivid, distinctive expressions. The originality of her compositions sometimes lends an unexpected lightness to otherwise imposing subjects.
