Large bronze of a lion fighting a tiger
This dark patinated and dynamic bronze depicts a lion fighting a smaller tiger. The dominant and large lion is pressing the tiger to the ground. Japan, around 1900. Meiji-Period. L: 60 cm

Inro with Shishi depiction
Four-case Inro with a gold kinji ground lacquer and Takamaki-e lacquer depicting a dynamic Shishi. Japan, 19th c. H: 9 cm

Finely made pair of cloisonné vases
Two magnificent dragons are depicted on a dark background. The two three-clawed dragons are dynamically designed and have beautiful colour accents. Japan, late 19th century Meiji period. Height 15.5 cm

Imposing Yakushi Nyorai Buddha
This large Buddha has a height of 59 cm (incl. base) Made of wood and golden lacquer Yakushi radiates a great calmness. He is depicted on a lotus base in a sitting, cross legged position wearing a long robe. His right hand is in Abhayamudra , the gesture of fearlessness and safety. His left hand is holding a vessel containing the nectar of immortality. Above his long arched eyebrows a round, white crystal is placed in the center of his forehead. This symbolizes his love and affection for humanity. Another crystal is placed between his curly hair. This crystal shall represent his supreme knowledge. Japan, 18th century. Edo Period. Height 59 cm Width 35 cm.

Daikoku's hammer - Uchide no Kozuchi
This intricate lacquerwork depicts the hammer of Daikoku, the Japanese god of wealth. The hammer is said to be able to fulfil wishes. It is designed with geometrical patterns and floral motifs. The ends of the hammerhead feature a painted dragon. Japan, around 1900, late Meiji period - Length: 16 cm

Fine ivory Netsuke of a skeleton
Beautifully carved and polished Netsuke of a skeleton. The skeleton is resting his hands on his tucked knees while crossing the feet. The netsuke is carved in openwork. Japan, 19th century. H: 5,3 cm Made of ivory. (with CITES certificate)

Fine bronze Okimono of an eagle
The beautifully crafted, focused eagle stands with outstretched wings on a wooden base. Signed Gyokko saku. Akasofu Gyokko was member of the Tokyo Cast Metalworkers' Association and specialized in naturalistic bronze depictions. Japan, late 19th. century - Meiji period.
