About us
Gallery Suma – formerly Antiques Emporium
Antiques Emporium continues under a new name: Gallery Suma. The new name and identity mark the next chapter in the gallery’s development, while its passion, expertise, and personal approach remain unchanged.
Gallery Suma specializes in high-quality works of art from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, with particular expertise in the glass of Johann Loetz Witwe. Under the direction of founder Chris Suma, the gallery brings together a carefully curated collection in which artistic quality, exceptional craftsmanship, authenticity, and art-historical significance take centre stage.
At Antica Namur, Gallery Suma presents a refined selection of works by leading artists, designers, and glassmakers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The collection includes works by Koloman Moser for E. Bakalowits, Émile Gallé, Daum Nancy, Gabriel Argy-Rousseau, Maurice Dufrêne, Josef Maria Olbrich, and, of course, Johann Loetz Witwe. Each object is personally selected for its quality, aesthetic appeal, authenticity, rarity, and historical significance.
A cornerstone of Gallery Suma is its specialist knowledge of Loetz. Through ongoing art-historical research and the study of historical sources, original design drawings, and specialist literature, attention is given not only to the beauty of an object, but also to the story behind it: from its designer and décor to its production history and provenance.
The collection reflects the artistic innovation of the fin de siècle and the first decades of the twentieth century: from the organic elegance and experimental techniques of Art Nouveau to the bold and refined visual language of Art Deco.
Gallery Suma welcomes both experienced collectors and those newly discovering the field, combining an internationally oriented collection with personal service and in-depth expertise. The gallery’s aim is not only to offer exceptional works of art, but also to share knowledge and assist collectors in discovering pieces that form a meaningful addition to their collections.
A new name, the same passion for exceptional Art Nouveau and Art Deco: Gallery Suma.
